Purpose of the grant:
Main objectives of this COST research:
• Explore whether there are more optimal thresholds for profit scoring that could lead to better financial outcomes for both investors and borrowers. This involves analyzing current models to identify potential adjustments that could enhance profitability and reduce risk.
• Investigate the effectiveness of crowdfunding and P2P platforms in linking the estimated probabilities of default with the interest rates set for borrowers. This objective aims to understand how accurately these platforms assess risk and adjust interest rates accordingly to mitigate defaults while ensuring fair returns for investors.
• Examine the use of sensitive features in AI models by crowdfunding and P2P platforms and assess whether these models exhibit bias. This objective focuses on ensuring that the AI tools used for fraud prevention and risk assessment are fair and do not inadvertently discriminate against certain groups of users.
