About
Luis Vicente is an Associate Professor in the Accounting and Finance Department and an associate researcher at the Institute on Employment, Digital Society and Sustainability (IEDIS) at the University of Zaragoza. He has served as director of the PhD Program in Accounting and Finance from 2019 to 2023 and currently serves as co-Principal Researcher of Ciber. He is also member of the Behavioural Finance Working Group (BFWG) at the UK.
His PhD dissertation on Spanish Mutual funds received the Social Sciences PhD Award from the University of Zaragoza in 2004. His main research area of interest includes portfolio management and behavioural finance. Luis Vicente obtained the Research Award (Accésit) from the Spanish Institute of Financial Analysts in 2015 and the Best Paper Award at the 10th PFN Conference (Lisbon, 2018) sponsored by Eurosystem-Banco de Portugal.
He has been visiting researcher and Erasmus lecturer at different European universities: University Carlos III (Madrid, Spain), University of Maastricht (Maastricht, Netherlands), ESSCA (Paris, France), University of Minho (Braga, Portugal), University of Rostock (Rostock, Germany) and University of Warsaw (Warsaw, Poland).
Luis Vicente has supervised three PhD theses and has been part of the scientific committees of international meetings organized by EFMA and the Spanish Finance Association (AEFIN), among others. He has been the head of three R&D projects with Spanish institutions.
Luis Vicente is also part of the editorial board of The European Journal of Finance.
In addition to his research, he has supervised and participated in several projects for excellence in teaching. In 2020, Luis Vicente was nominated for the «Best Teacher in Spain-University» Award (Educa Abanca).
