About
He is a Professor in the Department of Accounting and Finance and an associate researcher at the Institute on Employment, Digital Society and Sustainability (IEDIS) at the University of Zaragoza. He has been a visiting researcher at the University of Southampton (UK). He coordinated the Telefónica-University of Zaragoza Chair. Carlos Serrano also held the position of head of the Aragonese Observatory of the Information Society and was Director of the Master in Electronic Business Administration (MeBA). He coordinated the Advanced Laboratory of Legal-Business Research at the Walqa Technology Park (Huesca). He was the Director of the Department of Accounting and Finance.
Key Achievements and Outputs
His work includes the direction of five research projects funded by the Spanish Government and the authorship of 57 academic publications. He holds five six-year research fellowships.
In terms of research transfer, he has collaborated with several companies, such as Telefónica, FrogTEK, Soltic, ACK, Schindler, Barrabes IaSoft, Twindocs, Wirelessland, OESIA, and Mapfre. He has also collaborated with institutions such as INAEM, the Chambers of Commerce, the Technological Institute of Aragon (ITA), the Aragonese Foundation for Research and Development (ARAID), and the Government of Aragon. These collaborations have involved the direct management of a total budget of 646,219€ and participation in projects worth 1,516,722€. He has obtained a six-year transfer for his work in this field.
Research Interests
The impact of information and communication technologies on Accounting and Finance, Social Finance, and the factors that influence the success and failure of companies, with special emphasis on entrepreneurs.
